Bio:
A Minnesota native, Drew grew up with a passion for all sports, having competed in almost every sport, but over time concentrated his efforts towards baseball. He was a competitive gymnast for 8 years and feels that was the best choice his parents could have made for him from an athletic background. Drew is a very ambitious and determined individual and truly believes that quitting is never an option. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Business and Chinese, as well as a minor in Lifetime Sports and Fitness from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He played four years of varsity college baseball there before an injury stopped him from playing professionally after college. He is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) accredited Certified Personal Trainer. Since April of 2009, Drew has been an active competitor and avid participant in CrossFit Competitions. He has been CrossFitting since November 2008 and plans to continue for the rest of his life. Being CrossFit Level 1 Certified, he instills those methodologies by “Constantly Varied, Functional Movements, Performed at High-Intensities.” He is constantly driven to learn new fitness techniques and styles, as well as search for up-to-date health and wellness information.
He has been developing an Athletic Performance Training Program since November of 2010 and has instilled it in all of his coaches and athletes. It is utilized by all of Mission CrossFit SA’s coaches, the majority of athletes at Mission CrossFit SA, the Trinity University Baseball Program, Alamo Heights Rugby Club, and a large selection of youth athletes from around San Antonio. He plans to teach his program to anyone who is willing to learn, wants to surpass their competition and has the drive to perform at their highest level possible.
He is currently working hard towards his goal of qualifying for the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games and to have his Affiliate team there as well.
