Athletic Performance Training

At Mission CrossFit SA we want to help you reach the highest level of athleticism that you can achieve.  Our daily classes are designed to provide our athletes with an elite level of all encompassing fitness and the goal of CrossFit:  GPP (General Physical Preparedness).  However, some of our athletes have more specific goals in mind and for that reason we provide what we call Athletic Performance Training.

Athletic Performance Training was designed to provide our athletes with a program that is tailored to their desired goals.  Whether you are an athlete looking to train for the Reebok CrossFit Games or someone looking to make the jump to collegiate or professional levels of your sport, we are able to tailor a program to each individual to achieve those goals.

The goal of the Athletic Performance Training program isn’t to make you better in your individual sport, it is to make you a better overall athlete.  We focus on the 10 General Physical Skills (Strength, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, Power, Accuracy, Cardio Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Flexibility) to develop your athletic ability to the highest level possible.  Of course we want you to succeed in the sport that you are training for, but we want to turn you into a well-rounded performance athlete.  For example, we not only want you to reach the goal of running a 5 minute mile, but we also want to see you pull 500 lbs. off the ground as you walk back inside the door from running that mile.

This program was developed by former collegiate and professional athletes in the hopes of giving them a second chance at becoming a great athlete.  In turn, we found that it became a program that produced pure athleticism.  When designing this program, we looked at what the best, top level athletes were doing in each individual skill.  We took those training methods, combined them and created this program.  So, when you are doing a squat, you are squatting like the powerlifting world record holder, and when you are doing a sprint, you are sprinting like Usain Bolt.  This style of training is what will keep you steps ahead of the competition no matter what you are training for.

The Athletic Performance Training programs includes numerous different venues of training.  We utilize movements that are not limited to, but include Gymnastics, Powerlifting, Running Form, Olympic Lifting, Kettlebell, Plyometrics, General Physical Demand and the list goes on.
