DESCRIPTION:This Memorial Day\, Monday\, May 27\, Mission CrossFit San Antonio will host a WOD in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy\, 29\, of Patchogue\, N.Y.\, who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th\, 2005. \nThis workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor.” From here on it will be in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.  \nPartition the pull-ups\, push-ups\, and squats as needed.\nStart and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor\, wear it. \nJoin Mission CrossFit San Antonio for one of our two classes that day. One class is at 8:00am and one is at 9:30am.\nAll members are welcome to attend the workout. DESCRIPTION:FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK \nOn Saturday\, August 25\, Mission CrossFit will be hosting an in-house event where athletes will attempt the CrossFit benchmark workout “Linda.” There will be options for scaling the workout\, but also to attempt it prescribed. \n“Linda” ??‍♀️\n10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1\nDeadlift (1.5x Bodyweight)\nBench Press (1x Bodyweight)\nSquat Clean (.75x Bodyweight) \nLEVELS ?:\n*Weights are listed in order of movements (Deadlift/Bench Press/Squat Clean) \nA: Men: 135/95/75 — Women: 85/55/55\nB: Men: 155/115/95 — Women: 105/75/65\nC: Men: 185/125/105 — Women: 115/85/75\nD: Men: 225/135/115 — Women: 135/95/85\nE: As Prescribed \nSIGN-UPS ?:\nSign-ups will begin at the beginning of August and continue until the day before the event\, Friday\, August 24. When athletes sign up\, you will be signing up for a specific heat time and providing a spotter/judge for yourself. This spotter/judge will spot you on your bench press and count your repetitions. In the following heat\, the two athletes will fill flop positions\, allowing the second athlete to attempt “Linda” with the first athlete becoming the spotter/judge. DESCRIPTION:It is officially June which means the hot weather\, beach visits and swimsuits are in!  With that in mind\, Coach Drew is offering his Performance Nutrition Programming at a summer special to help keep you focused\, healthy and trim throughout the summer.  He will be there every step of the way to answer questions\, give advice\, and help you with anything you may need.  This program is for anyone looking to lose body fat\, gain strength\, lean up and learn about proper foods to eat.  This special is available from June 1 – June 30\, so you can start at anytime! \n \nThis program was recently ran during the Nutrition REBOOT earlier this year and here is what some of the members had to say about it: \n“The Performance REBOOT was a great experience for me.  I got 6 weeks to experiment on what works for my body and what doesn’t.  I was amazed with the results!  I felt stronger\, leaner\, tighter and faster.  I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ve continued the program on my own.”\n– Dan Alayon (lost 4.5% Body Fat\, gained 1.5lb of lean mass) \n“I started CrossFit at Mission in the Fall of 2015 and have seen consistent improvements in my fitness. It became evident that to reach many of the goals I had set for myself I needed to dial in on my nutrition. DESCRIPTION:We are announcing the next set of Advanced Barbell Prep course dates.  Our last course was a hit! Attendees left the program with a solid understanding of the olympic lifts and are now able to take that knowledge and put it to practice on their own.  We’ve had many requests for anther round of the class so here are the dates and times for our upcoming sessions.  This session will be taught by Coach Ryan Johnson.  He has been coaching CrossFit\, Powerlifting and Olympic lifting for a few years prior to joining Mission\, and has been working with Coach Drew while coaching the Mission Sport program for last year.  He is ready to help you become better at your olympic lifts! \nThis course will be four weeks long (8 sessions) meeting twice a week. The focus will be on the olympic lifts (Snatch\, Clean and Jerk) and their derivatives. Other accessory lifts such as squatting\, pressing and deadlifting will also be addressed.
