I have been talking about this a little bit over the past week or so, but CrossFit has changed the format for the CrossFit Games journey this year. There is an open tryout for anyone who can either attend an affiliate or video tape themselves doing a particular WOD. Starting March 15th at 7pm, there will be a work announced each Tuesday for 6 weeks. You will have 5 days each week to complete the workout. I would love to see a bunch of our athletes who want to participate do this! There is nothing to lose and you get to see how well you rank in our section. If you get in the top 30, you qualify for Regionals in Dallas, and who know maybe the Games after that…
If doing the individual is not your thing, we are going to also have an affiliate team. This team represents who we are as a gym and you get to work together as a team in workouts. Starting March 20th, the same format will initiate with teams. But, we can as many athletes as we want on a team, just have to have the final team by March 20th. Then, each week we all do the workout individually and we take the top 3 Male and top 3 Female times and submit them for our affiliate team. This way, we can really have our athletes focus on their strengths. I would love as many of you as possible to do this because it helps our chances as a team and as a gym to get to Regionals and then work our tails off to get to the Games. Let me know if you are interested and I will have a sign-up at the gym starting today. Just remember, this is not your grandma’s team, we work our asses off and I expect you to.
This Saturday we are going to perform Murph! We have had a lot of people asking to do this workout, so here ya go!
Also, this Sunday, Neal’s class will be at 10am since the Superbowl is in the evening. Get your workout in, then eat paleo snacks!
The new Mission CrossFit SA T-Shirts have arrived! People have been asking for them for a while, and they are now here. We have 3 different styles ranging in sizes from XS to XL. Come check them out!
