Mud Bug Challenge Numero Uno – “Any Way You Like It”
6 Minutes to Complete:
Max Effort row for metersĀ and as many Ground-to-Overheads as possible.
Score 1 = total meters rowed
Score 2 = reps multiplied by the weight lifted
Score Example:
Score 1 = a total of 1700 meters rowed
Score 2 = Partner 1 lifted 65# for 30 reps while Partner 2 lifted 135# for 20 reps
65 x 30 + 135 x 20 = 4650
i.e. Each athlete will have their own bar andĀ choose theirĀ own weight! Switch back and forth from rowing to lifting – the order is totally up to you. In fact, one person could row the whole six minutes while the other lifts. While that would be just awful, you can definitely do it.
Example:
Partner 1 begins on the rower and rows as far as possible in twoĀ minutes. Partner 2 begins on the lifting portion and performs as many Ground-to-Overheads as possible. Partners decide to switch every two minutesĀ and continue to rotate in such a manner for 6 minutes.
Another Example:
Partner 1 rows as far as possible and nearly passes out after 4 minutes. Partner 2 takes pity on Partner 1 and relieves him/her from the rower for the remainder of the two minutes. Unfortunately, Partner 1 still must perform Ground-to-Overheads during this time, and ends up crying.
Bottom Line: decide beforehand how you want to split this up.
Ground-to-Overhead: Snatch, Clean & Jerk, Clean & Pressā¦ don’t make anything else up.
