Congratulations to Lesley Lilly for being nominated as our September Athlete of the Month. She has been one of the hardest working athletes at the gym in the past couple months and her work paid off as she was crowned the winner of the female division of our Summer Series Competition. Great job Lesley!!!
Athlete of the Month – September 2012
Name: Lesley Lilly
Started CrossFit: Jan 2012
Favorite WOD: anything with rope climbs, pull-ups or handstand push-ups!
Least Favorite WOD: anything with burpees. Jeebus. I did a 7 min burpee test that would probably take the cake for least favorite WOD.
Favorite Lift: Deadlift
Least Favorite Lift: Snatches!! Snatches is an eight-letter word. Which makes it twice as bad as a four-letter word.
Story:
I started crossfit looking to try a new fitness routine. I was getting bored with traditional workouts that consisted mostly of running and lifting free weights. My first crossfit workout was Fran – and I did it Rx!!! I was hooked. Crossfit has introduced me to a lot of new fitness elements, like Olympic lifting and gymnastics type exercises like muscle ups. I still have much to learn and improve, but I’ve got my goal set on competing in regionals next year! Getting the courage up to walk into a crossfit gym for the first time has been the best decision I’ve ever made about my fitness. And most importantly, I love the community of like-minded people I’ve met in my crossfit journey!

Lesley has always been one of the most determined people I have ever been around. As her mother I consistently received feed back from her school teachers that when she set her attention on something she always got an A-+! Way to go Lesley! Your amazing!

Lesley, you are a beast and I love it! Where can I sign the dotted lines to follow in your foot steps?
